Insulation

Insulation slows and or prevents the flow of heat through your home. By installing this passive cooling material, you will reduce the extremes and experience year round comfort without the use of expensive heating and cooling methods.

The highest thermal efficiency you can achieve is to insulate your entire home from the inside out. This can be done during a new build or renovations.

The second best thermal efficiency you can achieve without major work is to insulate your ceiling with the highest quality R5 glass wool ceiling batts.

An uninsulated homes roof will allow an extra 25 - 35% of the heat in summer to penetrate your home and the same to escape in winter.

If you would like to further improve the thermal efficiency of your new ceiling insulation you can include a solar vent to extract heat above 25" and retain it below 25".

*The minimum requirement for homes in our service area is R 4.1 this will do a satisfactory job and a whirly bird for summer heat extraction.

Types

We provide three types of insulation thermal, acoustic and both. Thermal will trap and retain your homes heat during the year. Acoustic is used to reduce unwanted noise transfer through the homes and into the home from outside.

Both has thermal and acoustic properties for areas where you need both.

Quality Materials

We only use Australian made materials, we believe strongly that these are the highest quality available in the market and the best option for our clients. They are manufactured from recycled glass locally in Perth,

*The manufacturer claims they can reduce your energy bills for heating and cooling by up to 45%.

R - Value

Measures the insulations thermal resistance, for homes in our service area this means trapping heat in summer before it enters the home. We provide top quality R 5 glass wool batts, for those wanting the best thermal efficiency and reduction in cooling costs.

*Homes in our service area require a minimum R value of 4.1 to meet the needs of our extreme heat and bone chilling winters.

Why Should I Install Insulation In My Home?

Heating and cooling together use the largest amount of energy in the average Australian home, accounting for around 40% of household energy use (yourhome.gov.au). By using passive design materials like insulation you will be able to make a long term reduction in the cost of heating and cooling your home.

Some have also described older Australian homes as glorified tents which are built to let out hot air but not much else. The below image shows all the areas where older Australian homes can leak heat in winter and cooling in summer.

Climate Considerations

You will need to consider your climate :

Perth Costal is in zone 5 and is characterised by hot and very hot summers with low humidity and mild winters with low humidity.

Central Wa is in zone 4 and is characterised by high day - night temperature range as well as low rainfall and low humidity.

By understanding your climate needs we are able to recommend the most cost effective products for your home which will perform the best and reduce your heating and cooling costs year-round.
